PDF Merger

Combine multiple PDF files into one.

About This Tool

PDF Merge is a free online tool that combines multiple PDF files into a single document in seconds — entirely in your browser, with no upload required. Upload any number of PDFs, drag to arrange them in the order you want, and click Merge to get an instantly downloadable combined PDF. No registration, no size limits beyond your device's memory.

The merge is powered by pdf-lib, a JavaScript library that runs entirely client-side. Your documents never leave your device, making it safe for sensitive contracts, legal documents, financial reports, and other confidential files. Each source PDF's page content, formatting, and embedded resources are preserved in the output.

PDF Merge is most useful for consolidating invoices, combining multi-chapter reports, assembling application documents from separate files, and packaging multiple scanned pages into a single shareable PDF. It pairs well with PDF Split for dividing the result into sub-ranges after merging.

FAQ

Is there a file size limit?

Processing happens in your browser, so it depends on your device memory. Most files work fine.

Can I reorder the PDFs?

Yes, use the up/down buttons to reorder files before merging.

Does it preserve PDF bookmarks and hyperlinks?

pdf-lib preserves the page content of each PDF. Bookmarks (outlines) from individual files are not merged into a combined outline, but page content and embedded links are preserved.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed in the browser. You will need to remove the password protection before merging.

How many PDF files can I merge at once?

There is no hard limit on the number of files. However, very large PDFs or many files may require more browser memory. Merging in two passes (merge A+B, then merge result+C) helps with large batches.
